Does Fuerteventura have a golf course? ›

At over 1,500,000 square metres, Fuerteventura Golf Club is the largest green area on the island of Fuerteventura. The course is 18 holes, par 70, and 6,069 metres in length and was designed by the famous architect Juan Caterineau.

Overlooking Isla de Lobos and further afield to Lanzarote, the town of Corralejo has a much more chilled, surfer vibe than Caleta de Fuste. The only golf course is a short Par 3, 9 hole course, Mirador de Lobos Golf, which is surrounded on all sides by semi-detached holiday villas.

Corralejo is Fuerteventura busiest and largest tourist resort, which is constantly growing in size, but still retaining many of it's original charms as a fishing village.

In addition to the beaches, Corralejo also has a charming old town with narrow streets, whitewashed buildings, and a variety of restaurants and cafes. The town is located near Corralejo Natural Park, where you can explore the sand dunes and the famous Corralejo Grandes Playas, with stunning views of Lobos Island.

The best time to visit Fuerteventura is in late spring or early summer when peak temperatures are in the mid-20s, rainfall is minmal, humidity is low and it's the sunniest time of the year.

Like I mentioned earlier, Fuerteventura is a stunning mix of desert and coast! One way to explore is to head inland and see what you find. My favourite little town to visit was Betancuria, founded in 1404, it was originally the capital of the Kingdom of the Canary Islands.

Royal Troon's Old Course was founded in 1878, expanded to 18 holes 10 years later and re-designed by five-time Champion Golfer James Braid ahead of its first Open in 1923. It will host its 10th Open in 2024.
